An Ilon Wikland exhibition at the Maritime Museum

This weekend a temporary exhibition about Ilon Wikland’s life opened at Sjöhistoriska, The Maritime Museum, in Stockholm.

The exhibition called Den långa, långa resan has previously been showcased at the Formex fair in August. It’s named after the autobiographical book about Ilon Wiklands journey to Sweden from Estonia as a refugee child in the 1940’s. The exhibition is based on a concept by Lotta Ahlvar and created in collaboration by Rights & Brands, Design Ilon Wikland AB and Astrid Lindgren AB.

The Ilon Wikland exhibition at the Maritime Museum was inaugurated on Saturday, October 29, and will open for a week during the autumn leave in Sweden. At set times each day, the children’s book Den långa, långa resan (The long, long journey) will also be read aloud to visiting children. The tickets are limited and free of charge.

The Ilon Wikland exhibition at Sjöhistoriska is open until Sunday, November 6th. Read more at www.sjohistoriska.se
